Thanks Sam. I have an older version of MetaStock but I rarely use it — especially now that I’m day trading instead of swing trading. MetaStock is very powerful but I found that I could do 95% of what I needed with TeleChart.

Man, you just gave me a flashback with that PB question!

ps. for old time memories sake - Do you remember that PB interview question (at least I was asked this question in almost every interview I faced) What is the difference between SetTrans() and SetTransObject()? I was a PowerBuilder programmer too…I still love that software…

Frank,

1) I wrote a scan for hammers. It’s not perfect but it does a decent job.

2) No, I don’t use level 2 at all. Even though I’m daytrading now (I think) my timeframe (hours) is still long enough for me to not be too concerned about watching level 2. And I certainly don’t care about it when swing trading.

thank you for your perseverance and consistency in writing and informing those who are fighting daily in front of the monitors. I am one of those who is studying and looking for a system that I will be comfortable with. So far pretty mixed results,i.e losses. I have only 2 questions: In TC200 do you look for hammers only from the charts or is there a specific scan/formula to find them? And number 2, do you use level 2? By the way I am fighting through Van Tharp right now..His first book” financial freedom through electronic trading…
