Here's an article about some coming changes in semiconductor chips: Computing's Big Shift: Flexibility in the Chips. Looks like some really exciting stuff, at least to the engineer in me. Now to find a way for the trader in me to profit from this...

I talked to a guy here in Florida about a year ago whose company was attempting to reconfigure FPGAs on the fly. Doesn't seem like that would be as difficult as this article makes the chips sound. You could just use multiple configuration PROMs. But I think the article is talking more about a new type of architecture.
