Watchlist for July 1, 2004

There's really nothing on today's list of swing set-ups that looks extremely attractive. Couple that with the fact that I came up with an equal number of shorts and longs, and I'm really not feeling the urge to make any moves today. I tend to have better results when there is a severely lopsided number of longs vs. shorts. So I'll probably stay in daytrading mode for the rest of the week.

Currently holding:

Long - None

Short - None

Looking for swing trade entries in:

Longs - A, DCN, ELAB, RL, SMTC, SYNA, UNA

Shorts - COCO, FFIV, ISSX, QLTI, ROIAK, WEBX

Potential day trades:

(From Briefing.com)
Gapping Up: IRGI +25% (co and CRL merge), DRS +19% (CNBC reports that co rejected a $40/share offer from LLL), EMKR +16% (selected by ANAD as primary RF transistor wafer supplier), GERN +6% (announces publication of clinical data), BOBJ +4% (speculation co may be on Oracle's shopping list, BusinessObjects 6.5 is available and has begun shipping).... Under $3: SPLN +44% (receives $1.50/share bid from Viacom), ADSX +12%, EGHT +11% (inks deal with TigerDirect.com).... Gapping Down: CAH -15% (warning, government inquiry; Jefferies and WR Hambrecht downgrades), MERX -14% (reports MayQ; UBS downgrade), ELX -11% (guides below consensus; downgrades from JP Morgan and Merrill), AMKR -13% (guides lower), YHOO -4% (Smith Barney downgrade), SCIX -33% (paid huge dividend last night), COLT -32% (co says market conditions continued to be challenging), IPAS -20% (guides lower, Morgan Stanley downgrade), RF -19% (co and Union Planters formally complete merger), EXAR -9% (guides lower).
