Gold ETF could Lead To to ETFs for Other Commodities
By Michael on Dec 1, 2004 in Stock Market
I just heard about the potential for other commodity ETFs (besides gold) on Kudlow & Cramer last night. Here’s an article that says “currencies and precious metals ETFs likely.” It sounds like a great idea to me. Especially since I’m itching to read Jim Rogers’ new book “Hot Commodities : How Anyone Can Invest Profitably in the World’s Best Market“. Bring on those pork bellies!
Update: On a related note, I see that Random Roger just had a piece published at Motley Fool about the Gold ETF.

This is a great idea! I’ve been holding CEF as an inflation hedge for awhile now. I would much prefer a more efficient proxy for gold and other commodities. How about oil and soy beans?
I’m not a trader, but I think commodities could make sense in a balanced portfolio as a cash alternative.
