Watchlist for February 10, 2005

Here’s the daily SOX watch. Yesterday’s slide completely wiped out Tuesday’s gains and brought the index right back to its downward sloping trend line and between the 50 and 200-day moving averages.

There are a few less shorts on the list today because the entry points are a bit less desirable after yesterday’s slide.

Gapping Up

Gapping up on strong earnings/guidance: PMTI +15%, BYD +8.3% (also Jefferies, CIBC upgrades), AIRN +12%, CTSH +9%, AET +5.3%, NAPS +6%, ERES +5.4%, WFMI +5.2%, WEBX +4%, MOGN +3.6%, LEND +3.4%…. Other News: ISON +16% (announces formal launch of marketing for NeutroTest explosive detection device), AUGT +14% (KLAC offers to buy co), SLE +9% (announces transformation), VION +5% (reaches agreement on a special protocol assessment with FDA), SONS +3.6% (Raymond James upgrade), CY +3.7% (more analysts confirm Apple supply win)…. Under $3: VCMP +13.5% (security courses generate momentum).
