Chart Request: Forward Industries (FORD) and nutrisystem.com (NSI)

Joey sure know how to pick 'em. He sent in this message about two of the biggest gainers of 2005:

FORD has really taken off today and we are in blue skies territory. Another stock I like is NSI in blue skies territory. My chart request is on FORD. How much higher can FORD go? I have been in at 9 and out at 14 and back in since 15.

First, great job on the FORD trades! Perhaps I should be asking you where it's going. :-) I don't know how high it can go but as long as it's in that trend channel I'm a bull on it. I'd be concerned if it breaks out of the channel in either direction. Why I'd be worried on a downside break is obvious (I think). But on the upside The danger would be that it's rising too fast (going parabolic) and headed for a blowoff top. Here's the chart of FORD, which is 2005's top gainer (+361% YTD)

Since I don't usually look at lower priced stocks this is the first time I've seen NSI. It's only up 305% YTD (slacker!). I don't like this chart quite as much as FORD's but if it came back to the 2005 trendline I'd certainly look for a spot to get long.

There's tons of commentary on these stocks and other similar stocks in my trading blog fickletrader.blogspot.com along with ideas about how to play them =)

I agree with Mike that NSI is probably getting overheated and caution is warranted. I'm carring positions in both of these stocks, FORD being my biggest overall position.
