Watchlist for July 19, 2005

There are a lot of movers this morning as earnings season is kicking into full gear. The Dow is set to regain most of yesterday's losses on the open and the QQQQ is trading above yesterday's highs. I guess this is why they say never short a dull market -- and yesterday was as dull as dull can be.

As an aside, CAFE just won't quit, it's up another 12% in the pre-market. If I coulda, woulda, shoulda...

Potential swing trades:

Longs - None until August (after the earnings flood)

Shorts - None until August (after the earnings flood)

Quoted

"Novice investors like to put price limits on their buy-and-sell orders. They rarely place market orders. This procedure is poor because the investor is quibbling for eighths and quarters of a point, rather than emphasizing the more important and larger overall movement. Limit orders eventually result in your completely missing the market and not getting out of stocks that should be sold to avoid substantial losses." ~ William O'Neil
