Watchlist for October 28, 2005

As you know, the Nasdaq sliced through its 200-day moving average yesterday. So once again all three major indices are in bear territory. Cash is looking real good right about now...

I just finished reading through Briefing.com's "In Play" page and there's not much feel bullish about today. That makes me think that perhaps it's time to start getting bullish but if MaoXian's sentiment indicator is correct it's still too early for that. I'm tempted to take another long weekend and return after "the Fed" but I'm going to at least hang around for the first couple of hours to see if anything interesting pops up (or down).

Potential swing trades:

Intraday Updates:

  • 09:00 Let's see if ESLR can breakout on the back of the Thomas Weisel's $11 - $13 price target and Outperform rating.

  • 09:33 Nice turn around in MSFT vs. after hours last night. Also seeing strength in the usual tech suspects early -- AAPL, YHOO, GOOG, SNDK....

  • 09:35 YELL is looking good too

  • 09:41 Just like that the Nasdaq is back above its 200-day moving average. Gotta love this chop...

  • 09:53 MSFT is interesting. It's heading for its 200-day moving average though so that will keep me out until/if it can break through

  • 09:54 SNDK really looks like it wants to fly based on the daily chart

  • 10:12 Looks like the SOX (-2.9%) is gonna drag the Nasdaq down with it
