Watchlist for November 29, 2005

I'd still rather play the short side but you know me -- I'll take whatever the market gives. There are a couple of price target increases that have my attention this morning. SanDisk (SNDK) got upped to a buy (from hold) at AmTech and they raised their price target to $70 from $50. Also, for the second day in a row Apple (AAPL) had a price target raised to the upper 70s -- 77 in this case, also AmTech. You know how I feel about AAPL right here so I'm much more interested in playing SNDK today given its recent slide.

I'll also be watching GOOG (and YHOO) today to see if I can snag a few points on the down side. :-o

Intraday Updates:

  • 09:33 SFUN is making an interesting pattern on the daily chart
  • 09:36 SNDK got repelled by its 50-day moving average. I'll only try it if it can break though 53
  • 09:38 AAPL falls under 70 again. I'm watching for a short in it now
  • 09:45 Nice reversal for GME. Cramer must have done a 'mon back on it ;-)
  • 10:01 You don't see X up 8% very often. I think *something* is up in the steel sector
  • 10:04 Or maybe it's just X specific. From Briefing: "JP Morgan adds US Steel (X 42.49) to its Focus List and sets a $77 tgt based on a sum-of-the-parts analysis..."
  • 10:41 Looks like it's gonna be one of those sideways days. I'm staying out until I see a clear trend -- other than sideways.
  • 10:43 Then again, GOOG is making new lows. Hmm...
  • 10:45 NDAQ is finally taking a hit
  • 11:17 Just covered 1/2 my GOOG for ~7.5 point gain :-)
  • 11:31 NWRE's getting hit. This one has a lot of air under it
  • 2:24 Looks like the Dow and S&P are gonna join the Nasdaq in the red. Could get ugly real quick as people rush to protect profits
