Watchlist for December 19, 2005

We've got a lot of stocks gapping up this morning but the stock that's front & center on my screen is BIDU, which is gapping down. On Friday it finally broke down under that wall of support at 67.50 so I'm watching closely for an entry to short it.

PCYC -62% (clinical data for Xcytrin), PTN -13% (suspends sales of NeutroSpec), CVC -7.7% (announces technical covenant violations; will not proceed with special dividend), SNAK -7% (C.E.O., C.F.O. leave company, cuts Q4 guidance), WCC -2.3%, TEVA -1.3% (generic drugmaker down in sympathy on PFE ruling), RIMM -1% (FebQ guidance appears optimisitc says Citigroup), AMD -1% (Stifel downgrade).

Gapping Up

PFE +12% (wins Lipitor patent ruling, blocks generic version; up in sympathy: SGP +3.4%, MRK +3.3%, BMY +3.3%, SNY +3.7%, PPH +2.9%), SGMO +21% (announces "breakthrough" results at conference), CC +9% (reports Q3, names new C.E.O.), NMGC +8.8% (momentum), SNDA +8.2% (Mad Money mention), SPEX +7% (momentum), IRBT +4.9% (multiple initiations on this recent IPO), CRXL +4% (signs license agreement), NVAX +3.8%, SFCC +3.5% (responds to Bloomberg report), FLEX +3.1% (Morgan Stanley upgrade), ATYT +2.8% (JP Morgan upgrade), TNOX +2.6% (positive Phase II data; Bear Stearns upgrade), COP +1.9%, ADBE +1.4% (extends Friday's 11% move)... Gold stocks are strong as JP Morgan raised its '06 forecast to $560/oz: GFI +4%, GLD +1.2%... Under $3: CURE +22% (debtholders agreed to support a prepackaged bankruptcy plan).
