Watchlist for January 24, 2006

We're set to gap up this morning. About an hour ago the QQQQ got within a few cents of yesterday's high. I'm watching for that level to break before getting aggressively long.

Here are some stocks (besides those on the gappers lists below) that have my attention this morning:

MFLX - $56 tgt from Needham
CDWC - earnings, breaking under its 50 DMA
CRM - lost a client to Siebel
FCEL - first sale in Japan

MRK's CEO says, "Looking to buy larger biotech companies; takevover tgts must bring rev, late stage pdts" (according to Briefing).

If you were MRK, who would you buy? MYOG, CELG, KOSP, VPHM, VRTX, IMCL, AMLN, PANC, RNVS, ZGEN, BCRX? Or, one of the big boys like GENZ, GILD, or BIIB? WHO?
