April 4, 2006 Stock Market Recap

This market continues to bore me to tears. I can't find anything that I want to trade these days. It seems like all the decent gainers are already too extended for my tastes and the ones that look like shorts just won't crack. But at least I'm not the only one who thinks this is one strange tape...

It was apparently a good day for the bulls today, even if the Dow and S&P rose on lighter volume. We had another multi-year closing high on the Nasdaq and the S&P closed 0.1% off of its multi-year closing high. So at least for the moment it appears that we're on the verge of another breakout. (the bears must be at wits' end.) Now if I can just find something worth buying. (At least my IRA is benefiting from this wacky tape.)
