Watchlist for May 3, 2006

There are a couple of event' worth noting today. Of course we have oil inventories being reported at 10:30. The other is Ben Bernanke speaking at noon but according to Briefing.com "his subject is pretty far removed from policy & may offer little unless he stumbles across some stray reporters." So that will likely be a non-event. Hopefully Maria Bartiromo won't be there. ;-)

As for the indices, the Nasdaq continues to be relatively weak. Yesterday the Dow and S&P 500 made new multi-year closing highs but the Nasdaq is mired beneath its 50-day moving average. It's about 2.5% off of its recent highs. Once again I'm wondering if the Naz will pull the other indices down or vice versa.
