I've finally decided to change my web browser's home page to NetVibes. For those unfamiliar with NetVibes, it's similar to "My Yahoo" but a lot more flexible and open. From their about page:
Netvibes.com is a custom made web 2.0 home page solutionThis service is free and gives the user the ability :
- to create a personalized page with the content they like.
- to put together data feeds and services from web 2.0 with a very simple interface
- to access your page anytime and from any computer .
It is also possible to :
- browse, modify, and import your RSS feeds with our integrated RSS/ATOM feedreader. You can easily import an OPML file as well.
- to import, download and listen podcasts without any additional software
- to check your mail on one or many gmail account, to stick webnotes, weather and many more to come !
One of the cool features is the ability for users to share tabs (layouts / templates). One of the first things I did was search the NetVibes Ecosystem for a stock market tab to add to my NetVibes page. There wasn't one out there so I decided to throw one together real quick. I think it's a good startign point for people to track the markets. It contains some financial blogs, financial podcasts, headlines from news sites, a stock quotes module, a bookmark module and top stories from Digg.com's Business & Finance section.
Here's a screen shot (click for a larger view):
Any NetVibes users can add that tab to their own NetVibes page via the following button -- ![]()

Awesome.
I've been thinking of switching to Net Vibes for a while. My Google Homepage is getting pretty crowded, and I can't wait any longer for them to implement a tab feature.
Your finance tab might be just the thing to push me over the edge. Thanks for putting it together.
Hi Mike,
I've been using netvibes for quite a while now. Netvibes is fantastic. Good choice!

Maybe I am the only voice of dissension, but I still prefer MyYahoo!
NetVibes does not appear to have as nice of a "look and feel" as I have designed on my personalized MyYahoo!, and I don't think it can match the content I have. I have everything there - pics, stock market, news, email, TV, Music, Sports scores, and blogs...
Good luck with it though!

You're so Web 1.0! :d
I was Web 1.0 when Web 1.0 wasn't cool.
I predict you will be back to MyYahoo! in 30 days or less.
Are you long YHOO?
No, but I should be.
I think they have the best web based email - especially the new Beta version which is phenomenal. And, I like MyWeb too.
FYI - DBRN was a great short today. 15-minute chart, break of the second bar low, covered at the Fibonacci extension.
Have a good afternoon.
