There’s a very accurate review of TheMoneyBlogs on BusinessWeek’s site. But if you want the real story, take a look at Howard’s post about theMoneyBlogs from August. And be sure to read the raging discussion in the comments where you’ll see my thoughts on TheMoneyBlogs.
A quick side note, the BusinessWeek writer seems to dislike sites with advertising. I find that curious, hysterical and hypocritical given all the ads surrounding and floating across her work at the BusinessWeek site.

Michelle B submits: Teresa Lo recently has written a less than flattering article (which is closed to comments) about trading bloggers. When I have visited her site previously, my impression was unfavorable. Perhaps, it is my own denseness, but when at her site I desperately needed to have a smug and dripping sarcasm decoder nearby, because I was looking at my native language in its written form, unable to grasp the meaning, sense, and flavor of her writing style.
When I read Procol’s comment (Fade her at your own peril) to the Daily Options Report’s entry regarding Lo’s article, my first thought was fading or not fading Lo or any other guru or expert does …

This may be a bit of preaching to the choir but Dr. Brett has just written an article about stock market blogging. Here’s a snippet:
Clearly there are more blogs out there than we can hope to follow regularly. Accordingly, I thought I’d pass along a few of the ones that I have found to be particularly worthwhile. These sites offer four basic features:
Frequently updated content –at least daily;
Unique content–fresh perspectives on markets, the economy, stocks, trading, etc.
Knowledegable content–information based on clear reasoning, research, and experience.
Participation in the blogger community - linking content to broader material in the blogosphere and on the Web for enhanced depth of coverage.
What do these criteria eliminate? They filter out …

Here’s a blog that I just discovered while playing around with Google’s new blog search tool: DaytradeTeam: Day Trading Tips. It just started in mid-August but there are a lot of good posts already. Some which caught my eye (I haven’t read them all yet):
Avoid Risk in Day Trading
Extended Hours Day Trading (Something I never do)
How to use the Advance-Decline Number
Stock Breakouts–a Day Trading Approach
Day Trading the Same Stocks (I’ve never been a fan of limiting my list of trading candidates to a select list of stocks but they make some good points.)
Knowing when NOT to Day Trade (Knowing when to stay out is crucial regardless of …

Here’s the comment I just left on Seeking Alpha’s post about financial blogs and potential conflicts of interest.
There are some good points made by the commenters above so I’ll keep my comments real brief. I think that anybody who acts upon an investment/trade idea without doing their own analysis, in whatever form, is foolhardy. That goes for ideas gleaned from anonymous sources or even from the esteemed Wall Street Journal. As we’ve learned over the last several years, not even analysts at ‘credible’ Wall Street firms can always be trusted.
I’ve always been wary of talking about individual stocks for fear of being accused of being a pump & dumper. My concern has …

Seeking Alpha has a couple of important posts about blogs and conflicts of interest that I encourage all of you to read. In the first post David, the author, asks:
With (often anonymous) blogs, how do I know what I’m reading is accurate?
How do I know that the author isn’t trying to “pump and dump” a stock?
How do I know the author has disclosed any position in the stock being written about?
The second post gives an example of potential issues with one blog in particular and also has a rebuttal from the author of that blog.
I have many thoughts …

Check it out:
Before there were blogs there were anonymous chat rooms. Now anyone who wants to be heard can just as easily create a Web log. But writing a useful investment blog isn’t so easy. First, you have to have good investment ideas. Second, it helps if your ideas are embedded in insightful commentary and third, it is probably best if you post your ideas quickly. Investors will forgive lousy navigation, advertising clutter, bad grammar and really any other Web site foul. In the end the most important thing is to make investors money. Below you will find some of the more interesting investment oriented blogs in cyberspace. We can’t guarantee their results but we can testify …

Here it is, my attempt to keep track of all the stock market (and other trading) blogs out there. If I’ve missed any, leave it in the comments and I’ll add it to the list.

The list of stock market blogs is growing quickly now (finally!). Here’s another trading blogger (blogging trader?) - JChart.
I guess I should keep a running list of these apart from my BlogRoll. If nothing else, maybe that will help knock that damn BlogShares.com out of the number one ranking for the Google search for ’stock blog’. That’ll be my mini-project for tomorrow.
P.S. Now if we would all just ping weblogs.com when we update our blogs…. please!
